Construction Project Engineer

Kellington Construction is a respected commercial and industrial contractor known for quality work, strong relationships, and a collaborative team culture. We are growing and looking for a motivated Project Engineer to support our project teams from start‑up through close‑out.

What You’ll Do

As a Project Engineer, you will support Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and office staff to keep projects running smoothly. Your responsibilities include:

Project Coordination

  • Assist with day‑to‑day project management and communication.
  • Maintain project documentation, logs, and schedules.
  • Attend coordination meetings with the CM/GC as needed.

Contract & Scope Management

  • Review contracts to ensure alignment with proposal scope and special conditions.
  • Identify discrepancies and submit RFIs to resolve scope questions.
  • Communicate scope requirements to internal teams and subcontractors.

Project Start‑Up

  • Prepare start‑up packages (budget, schedule of values, work scope, logs).
  • Support and participate in project kick‑off meetings.

Subcontractor Buy‑Out

  • Review specifications and subcontractor bids for completeness.
  • Clarify inclusions/exclusions and finalize pricing.
  • Maintain accurate bid logs and review with Project Manager.

Procore / Construction Management Software

  • Keep all project documents updated in Procore, including drawings, specs, addenda, submittals, and change orders.
  • Ensure all logs are accurate and current.

Submittals & Material Tracking

  • Review submittals for compliance before sending to CM/GC.
  • Track approvals, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate field verifications when needed.

Change Management

  • Review Price Requests and determine scope impact.
  • Collect subcontractor/vendor pricing and prepare Change Requests.
  • Review issued Change Orders and update internal cost tracking.

Close‑Out

  • Track punch list items and ensure completion.
  • Manage close‑out documents, warranties, and final cost reconciliation.
  • Support final contract adjustments and change order processing.

Work Location: In person

Compensation:  Competitive salary based on experience.  Full-time with benefits package.  We offer health and dental insurance, HSA, paid vacation and holidays, and a 401K.
